"I guess I was dreaming - it's hard to tell sometimes - I mean, these days I don't even know what days are and sometimes what I experience when I'm awake and when I'm asleep gets all kinds of mussed up - I mean, hell, try going through life living in some weird world that doesn't quite exist but overlaps with you're work-a-day world - anyway, I had this dream I guess and I was walking through Central Park - y' know, nice day, spring time, and I'm down on Bethesda Terrace, down by the fountain and I realize that there isn't anyone else around - I mean that's some weird shit 'cause there are always people around the fountain, even in winter there's people there - and while I'm looking around at this deserted plaza I feel like someone is looking at me and when I turn I see the statue, the angel of the waters is coming to life or something - she's not just bronze anymore she's --- it looks like she's becoming flesh and blood and I don't know if angels can be flesh and blood because they're angels right? - but she's pulling a Galatea right there on top of the bronze fountain with the cherubs or puti or which-ever they are there under her platform --- and she's looking at me like she wants to tell me something --- and then I wake up."
